With the noise measurement option, the sound pressure level (structure-borne sound of one of the two friction partners) is recorded in the frequency range 10 kHz to 1 MHz.
The standard measuring channel outputs the peak value of the sound pressure level per revolution.
In conjunction with the HRA option, the sound pressure level is continuously recorded with a minimum sampling interval of 10 µs.
Tribological statements from sound measurements can include the following:
Change in sound pressure when damage occurs
Level change when rolling over wear particles
Statements about the noise generation in tribocontact when varying the lubricant
