Mechanical structure
Solidly built test system in a frame design. The drive bearings accommodating the test disks are located on the top cover. The drive bearings are connected via cog belts to the drive motors below the cover. Drive line 1 is movable for applying normal load. Drive line 2 is equipped with cardanic suspensions for the measurement of friction force. The axles of the drive lines are braced with a feed shaft via cones.
Friction force measurement:
Continuous measurement of the friction force, acting in both senses of rotation during the test, with mechanical end stop
Drive:
2 DC drives, electronically synchronizable, 11 kW/36 Nm each (max. 100 Nm)
Test load system: 10 – 5000 N, exchangeable load cassette, electronically driven, mechanical spring system acting on driveline 1. Continuously adjustable with integrated normal force sensor.
Suitable for test disks with a diameter from Ø 45 mm to 60 mm. Test casing volume approx. 350 cm3

Integrated electronic control including all modules necessary for standard operation and twofold power electronics for controlling the drive motors.

The basic software enables the operation of the basic machine.
Acquisition, storage, and processing of all control and test data, database, time-dependent online-view of all control and test data, automated recognition of the installed options and modules, network-compatible.
Parameter input: test duration, test load, rotational speed and direction of rotation of both drive motors, friction force cutoff value, slip roll ratio dynamically adjustable
Creating of dynamic setpoint profiles with ramp function for all parameters. Storable as a program, as well as retrievable and repeatable as desired.
Graphical analysis of the measured values

The software is installed on the PC and also delivered on a storage medium.
Water cooling of the test disks
The axles of the drive bearings are hollow shafts through which cooling water is flowing. The temperature of shafts and test disks can thus be reduced.
Operated via the water supply or via cryostat as circulation cooling system.
Scope of delivery:
• 2 drive shafts (hollow shafts)
• 2 water draining systems with sockets, for connecting to the water supply – as loss system, cryostat, or circulation cooling system
Remark: (Cryostat, circulations cooling system, connection fittings or connection to the water supply are not included).
Heating of the test housing
The base plate of the test housing is heated via an integrated heating.
